'Wednesday' is Directed by Neeraj Pandey. The director has come up with a thrilling subject and true to
its content, he has presented the film very well and the narrative was really intense.
A gripping tale, the story begins with a call received by Prakash Rathod (Anupam), the commissioner of
Mumbai police about a series of bombs planted across various spots in the city and the caller demands
for the release of the four militants. Suspecting a crank caller, Prakash tries to take it easy but wakes up
to find a bomb right opposite in the police station. With no time to waste, he immediately gets on to the
job and assembles his best team to trace the caller and his whereabouts.
However, all his efforts fail and finally he decides to give in to the demands of the caller and arranges for
the four militants to be released and given away to the caller. However, there is a larger surprise and
shock in store for him after he does that. And what happens hereafter is to be seen on the screen.
Presentation:
Dialogues were solid, the script was absolutely tight and the screenplay was really commendable.
Background score provided enough momentum and raced the pulses while a top notch camerawork was
the icing on the cake. The editing was crisp, the pace of the movie was steady and barring the absence
of comedy, the film has been shaped very well. Anupam Kher has come up with a remarkable
performance but then the real show stealer was Naseeruddin Shah who has proved why he is called the
best. Even Jimmy Shergill was competent while Aamir Bashir was perfect, Kali Mukherjee showed
enough evil while Chetan Pandit did his bit with élan, no spice from Deepal this time as her role was
more social.
