'Race' is directed by Abbas - Mustan. They are well known for thrillers. Earlier the director duo made 'Baazigar', a super hit
film. 'Race' is one of their best attempts post 'Baazigar'. The film has all the elements that are needed for a perfect thriller.
It has many twists and turns which makes the story unpredictable. The directors are sure to win the hearts of people for
presenting one of the best films of the year.
Ranvir (Saif Ali Khan) and Rajeev (Akshaye Khanna) are step-brothers who own a huge stud farm in Durban, South Africa.
They are the biggest bookies in the horse racing circuit. Ranvir, the elder one, is very aggressive and is always on the
move. Rajeev, on the other hand, is very laidback and a chronic alcoholic. Sophia (Katrina Kaif) is Ranvir’s personal
secretary who loves him. Ranvir is totally unaware of her feeling. Sonia (Bipasha Basu) is an upcoming Indian model who
also loves Ranvir, but gets married to Rajeev. When she discovers that Rajeev is alcoholic, her world is shattered. She
then comes closer to Ranvir and an affair starts between them. Rajeev starts suspecting Sonia. A murder is commited.
An investigative officer R.D. (Anil Kapoor) starts an investigation. What happens later is to be seen on the
screen.
Performances:
Saif Ali Khan is excellent yet again. His looks and attire suits him well. Akshaye Khanna is superb. This is one of his best
performances so far. Bipasha looks gorgeous and does well. Katrina Kaif proves her talent once again after 'Welcome'.
She is sure to win laurels. Anil Kapoor is good as an investigative officer. He is well known for his varied roles. Sameera
Reddy is alright as a dumb girl. Johny Lever is good in a brief role. The others are upto the mark. Music by Pritam
Chakraborty is rocking. All the songs are catchy. Background music is simply superb. Choreagraphy is first rate. Story
and screenplay by Shiraz Ahmed are excellent. The film has high production values.
