Abbas-Mustan, who gave us successful thrillers like 'Baazigar', 'Ajnabee' and 'Humraaz' in the past, have come with their
latest thriller titled 'Naqaab'. The film is nowhere near to their previous thrillers in which suspense formed the main
basement. 'Naqaab' revolves around two men and a women. The director duo have tried to present something new this time, but
the suspense is loosely packed in the film.
Story:
Sophie (Urvashi Sharma), a middle class girl, is engaged to a millionaire Karan Khanna (Bobby Deol). Despite her rich
boyfriend, Sophie works in a burger joint. Once she meets Vicky Malhotra (Akshaye Khanna), a struggling actor who can do
anything to make his dream come true. This wins the affection of Sophie. They get attracted to each other. This gives rise to
a lot of problems in her relationship with Karan. The film then throws light on the past of the three characters which
unfolds certain twists and turns. And who does Urvashi choose, is to be seen on the screen.
Performance:
'Naqaab' belongs to Akshaye Khanna. His performance stands out. Bobby Deol plays his part well. Newcomer Urvashi Sharma has
done a good job. She is comfortable in playing her part before the camera. The chemistry between Akshaye and Urvashi is
excellent. Raj Zutshi is okay. The others have least impact. Music by Pritam is adequate. Songs are catchy. Dialogues are
passible. Cinematography is good. Story and direction are gripping. The other technical aspects are alright.
