Ram Gopal Varma, after the remake of a block buster movie 'Sholay', has come back with yet another worth
watching flick 'Darling'. Like all his earlier films, 'Darling' too has suspense. The film also has
humor, entertainment. This is sure to be one of the director's brave works.
Aditya Soman (Fardeen Khan) is a busy man who has got a beautiful, traditional wife Ashwini (Isha
Koppikar) at home and a stunning girlfriend (Esha Deol) at work. He manages both of them with clever
lies. Everything goes well until his girlfriend shocks him saying that she is pregnant. At this
juncture, Aditya tries to confess her that he cannot leave his wife. She gets raged and starts fighting
which leads to her death. Terrified Aditya disposes off her body and returns home. And within no time,
Aditya girlfriend returns as a ghost. What happens hereafter is to be seen on the screen.
Performance:
Fardeen has done well both as a boyfriend and a husband. His emotional sequences with Esha are
interesting. Esha excels in her performance. She does her role with complete dedication. Isha Koppikar
has done a good job, especially, in the second half. Zakir Hussain is brilliant. The others have played
their roles upto the content. Music by Pritam, Himesh Reshammiya, Prasanna Shekhar is pleasant. The song
sequences are good. Background scoring is interesting. Screenplay is fine. Story and direction are
nothing special but catchy. The other aspects are adequate.
