'Bombay Meri Jaan' is Directed by Nishikant Kamat. The director has come out with
an excellent tale to relate and those who have been a part of the incident will
surely relate to it quickly. This movie is related to the journey only.
An excellent tale, the movie revolves around sux characters who come from different
walks of life but are bound together by one incident, that is the Mumbai bomb
blasts that shook the city on July 7th 2006. Top on the list is Rupali Joshi (Soha
Ali Khan) who is a press reporter and making news out of personal tragedies is the
key for her, then there is Nikhil (Madhavan) who is a strict and principled
corporate person and a staunch patriot, Suresh (Kay Kay Menon) who is a big time
anti Muslim and has a strong belief that it is only them who are behind the bomb
blasts, then there is Thomas (Irrfan) the coffee vendor who is a silent spectator
to most of the things, over them is Tukaram Patil (Paresh Rawal), a constable on
the verge of retirement and last but not the least there is Sunil Kadam (Vijay
Maurya) who is a fresh cop on the block and is full of energy.
Each of them has heir own tales to narrate and then it is the aftermath of the
Mumbai blasts that showcases the nature and reaction of each person and how they
bring out their good side or the worst side depending on the situations. And what
happens hereafter is to be seen on the screen.
Presentation:
The presentation was perfect and the narration was top notch, full marks to the
technical team as they come up with an excellent camerawork blended with some music
which matches the moods, editing has been crisp and the screenplay was deft. The
script was completely under control and had a good amount of intense moments. The
entire cast has come up with a top notch performance but the best among them is
Paresh Rawal whose one liners will be remembered for a long time and then there is
Kay Kay Menon whose transformation process is worth a watch, Irrfan also expressed
a lot with his mannerisms. Soha, Maddy and others contributed very well and others
did their bit with ease and effective approach.
