| Coming to the aspect of your career - in the first generation N.T.R and A.N.R jointly enjoyed the No-1 position. After their regime you have got the credit of holding it in solo capacity. How do you feel to have bagged such a great credit? As you have mentioned the No-1 position in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam were always held-up two personalities. But in Karnataka Raj kumar is the one only No-1 hero. Now here I am feeling so delicate to answer your question... answering such a sensitive question is order than hold in the No-1 position. But one thing is true... this No-1 position is a 'sweet hell' and ' a bitter heaven'.
In the Indian film industry the hereditary heroism became well popular that all the senior heroes are bringing down their sons and brothers. In your case you are already sitting on the No-1 throne and your younger brother Pavan Kalyan is raising to higher altitudes. As a hero he is touching your shoulders. How you are feeling about that? It's one more delicate question. But at the same time it gives me immense pleasure that two brothers from one family are ranking on the top... really its a wonderful feeling. Mr.Chiranjeevi - the passing century is sad to be the memorable one in the history of man kind. In a few hours the century is going to end. How do you put across your views on the departing century? As you have put it the passing century remains memorable. It is in this century that we are witnessing all the revolutionary changes and improvement in political, Social, technical and creative fields. It's in this century only that every aspect of human life became fruitful. The concepts of universal brother hood and globalisation made the world so small that the whole universe is looking like a global village. Because of the global outlook the largest world became the smallest and in the ratio it is necessary that the human mind should also become larger to hug the people across the oceans. Are you not feeling any competitive pressure by the rapid coming-up of Pavan Kalyan? As long as I take him as my younger brother I keep enjoying... But if the time comes to take him as a competitor I must take my own care. Not only in the case of Pavan Kalyan in the matters of professional competition I take everybody as a competitor. At the same time I don't limit my happiness only to the success of Pavan Kalyan... I extend it equally to the success of other heroes. I do treat all the other heroes like my brothers only. Its not for modesty... I believe that the success of one hero inspires others. Mr. Chiranjeevi since the topic of hereditary heroism is being discussed we like to pose a question. If hero Mahesh Babu is not the son of Super star Krishna, If Pavan Kalyan is not your brother, If Sumanth is not from Dr.Akkineni's family do you think they will so successful? No... they can't... the simple reason is that they were not simply introduced... they were well presented. Since they came with such a majestic background they could see the success easil, but at the same time the impact of our image back them forever. The impact of our image works only for one or two films only. Later it's upto them to sustain their success. It is talked that the industry filled with heroes, their sons, their brothers and their kith and kins. It is noted that this hereditary heroism had become a hindrance for the new talent to come flourish. What do you say to it? If the new talent what you are saying is really new and novel nobody can stop it. A true talent can't be stopped, prevented nor killed. Here you have to note that all the hereditary heroes are not successfull. There are so many heroes who went back inspite of their heavy backups. Moreover this industry is so wide and warm that it can take any number of new talents into its lap. Here people are placed in their disvered places only. No encroachers are there in this field of art to grab some body's place and to rob somebody's bread. Chiranjeevi garu - it took so many years for an unknown Chiranjeevi to become a well-known Megastar. But nowadays the boys of the new crop are becoming stars overnight. Are you not feeling jealous of them? It is their fortune. Yes... some times such feeling comes into my mind like a passing cloud. But when I think over I feel verymuch happy and proud by the way I cameup in the career. As far as the matters of self- contentment are concerned I feel that Iam the richest man. Each and every brick of my' career-castle are my own. Today you are a top star. Even in the future you will attain, achieve and succeed for a period of time. After that from heroism you will turn to do characters...after that you will retire from proffesion. This all is the routeen in any actor's career. Instead of such routine disclosing is there any eternal purpose to your life? Why not.. there will be a concrete purpose. I am well blessed with everything. I am bestowed with all the pleasures. When I am given such a beautiful and vast life I won't let it go waste. I won't let the Almighty repent for giving me such a blessed life. I will make this life very purposeful but I won't make any announcements now it self. First of all let me checkup my self whether I have attained a needed amount of mental metuerity. When lakhs and crores of people love me and making a place for me in their hearts in return how many accommodations I would be able to make for them in my heart. This is the way I think. Some of those who had eye-witnessed your image and stamina are expecting you to come into politics, those who are noticing your social services are expecting you to turn up as the male Mother Teresa of AP, those who are observing your spiritual love are expecting that you would turn up as a detached personality. Out of all these what you prefer to become? All these expectations are from their own point of view only.Expect politics my activities in the other areas are already in full swing. I do things... but not to become a politician, not to be identified as male Mother Teresa or any spiritual personality. I do things on my own accord. After attaining such an image, after owning the love of lakhs there must be some biggest purpose to anybody's life. Professional hits and flops, hills and slopes are common. But when we are thinking about an eternal purpose and goal there should not be any reshuffling of decisions and ideas. So I assure that there will be an eternal purpose to my life. But till I take a decision it is a suspense not only to you to me even. Mr.Chiranjeevi... In the last two decades of the last century we have influenced the Telugu film Industry in many aspects and now entered the new century. Do you hope that you can continue the same amount of success, cherishma and image in the new century even? I never speak about my success image nor position. I always believe in hard work, dedication and discipline. I don't relax. If at all I suspect that this body is relaxing I won't let it... I will bend it like anything. So as long as I don't relax the success, the image and position will never go anywhere. They will remain as they are. Sir, now If a 24 sheet wallposter is put to your cinema 75 percent will be occupied with your picture only. In the same way all the leading film magazines prefer your photograph to come on their cover designs. To say in a sentence you have become the cover page star of the Telugu Industry. In this backdrop what was your feeling when you had seen your photograph on thewallposter for the first time? Oh... it's a lovely topic. Really I can never forget my feelings when I had seen my picture on the wallposter for the first time. At the time of my first film 'Pranam Khareedu' was released I was having an old Fiat Car. In that car I came all the way to Nellore. There I used to stop- my car at some wallposter. I look at the poster whether my picture is there in it or not. If its there I get-down and look round whether somebody identified me or not. But nobody cares to... If at all somebody noticed I feel immense happiness. Now it is a lovely thing to recollect such flashbacks. |
